Journalistic bait, switch

Chris Pippos, in his column of January 30, is guilty of a bit of journalistic bait and switch when he starts off referring to climate change sceptics and ends by referring to them as deniers.
Given that the studies he quoted are based on computer modelling, not solely on objective and repeatable measurements, one would do well to be a bit sceptical of their conclusions.
This is not to say the scientists involved are deliberately attempting to mislead the public, merely that all such modelling has, underlying it, assumptions that are not necessarily verifiable in the real world.
I’m not doing a Louis XIV here, after me, the deluge, nor am I suggesting we should not do all we can to take care of our planet and limit our impact on it.
I’m simply asking that we realise there is a limit to what science can tell us about the future and we should not impose on the people legislative and tax burdens that are based on assumption, speculation and financial vested interest.
