Pump up the air-conditioning, Melbourne is sick of your complaints.
Summer will finish in fine form with a few weeks of hot weather across the state.
Some parts of Victoria will even see low-intensity heatwave conditions before fluctuating February makes way for a milder autumn change.
The mercury starts its rise on Tuesday, with a forecast mostly sunny top of 32 degrees.
Six tips for keeping your cool
Wednesday is predicted to reach 36 ahead of a brief cool change of 26 on Thursday.
The heat returns on Friday with a top of 32 and rises sharply on Saturday (37) and Sunday (35).
Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Richard Russell said the hot pattern and temperamental conditions looked set to stick around for a few weeks.
That searing heat will warm the ocean and pave the way for more settled autumn conditions.
Melburnians got a taste of what’s in store over the weekend, with Friday recording a maximum of of 35.7 and Saturday 35 before a much cooler 23 on Sunday.
Mr Russell said long-term forecasts showed that pattern settling in for the next few weeks.
“I don’t think it’s the last hot spurt,” he said.
While Melburnians sweat through the hot weather, areas further north will be practically baking.
Swan Hill will be the state’s hottest on Wednesday, with a predicted 41 degrees.
Mildura has the same forecast maximum on Saturday.
Mr Russell said there was a chance Melbourne could end up even hotter on the weekend as northerly winds pushed hot air further south.
