The graph shows unleaded petrol prices unless indicated. District fuel prices source: www.mynrma南京夜网.au.For the first time since we began our fuel campaign on January 12 Young’s unleaded and E10 petrol price averageof 113.9 cents per litre is cheaper than Sydney’s average.
And by seven cents.
In an unexpected turnof events, the gap between Young’s fuel bowsers and those in the city has completely flipped.
The NRMA yesterday recorded Sydney’s average at 120.9 cents per litre, jumping a whopping 13 cents since Thursdayand 20 cents compared to last Sunday.
Young had been between 13 and 18 cents dearer than Sydney up until last Wednesday.
On Thursday the gap was reduced to 10 cents difference as local stations gradually dropped their prices and Sydney slowly began to climb.
By Friday the difference was only by six cents.
Since last Thursday,Young’s averagehas remainedat113.9cents.
All six local stations have kept their prices the same as what they were charging on Thursday and Friday.
But the town has been ona downward trend compared to its January 1 average of 132.9 cents per litre.
The district prices, to help local motoristscompare, are the average prices recorded by NRMA yesterday. We’ve been unable to collect Harden’s prices.
Another surprising trend is district averages, like Sydney, are also climbing.
Canberra’s average has risen by 0.3 of a cent, Yass by 3.5 cents and Forbes by 4.5 cents.
Will Young be next?
Temora’sand Cootamudra’saverages have remained the same since last Wednesday and January 30 respectively.
