YARRAM police are appealing for information after eight people reportedly BASE jumped from the Omega Tower nearWoodside about 6.20am Sunday morning.
Police said all of them landed safely before running into bushland.
In a separate incident, five Melbourne people were interviewed by police on-site at the tower last Saturday, January 31, after they allegedly climbed the tower.
Police said the offenders, four men aged 20 to 25 and one 20-year-old woman, had climbed the tower but had not planned to BASE jump.
Yarram police said the offenders were released and would appear at court at a later date facing trespassing charges on defence force property.
With interest in the structure heightened following a recent government announcement that the tower will be dismantled in the first half of this year, Yarram police said they were concerned at the potential for injury or death for climbers and BASE jumpers.
A 23-year-old man died on January 25 last year after his parachute failed to open while BASE jumping from the tower.
The Omega tower is the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere.
People with information about people BASE jumping from the tower are urged to phone Yarram police on 5182 5033 or to remain anonymous, phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
