P&C secretary Clare Bookless, P&C President Stacey Applin and Bridgetown Primary School Principal Judith Dadson are all very proud of the recent achievements of the P&C. THE upgrade of the junior playground, the building of a new nature playground in pre-primary, plus the purchase of new library books and ipads has all occurred thanks to the amazing hard work of the Bridgetown Primary School’s P&C committee.
The P&C worked tirelessly last year and raised an amazing $30,000 to go towards all of these projects and many more that are in the pipeline.
Bridgetown Primary School P&C President Stacey Applin said it was pleasing to see so much come out of the hard work of the volunteer parents, staff and community members.
“We are incredibly proud of our achievements and look forward to our children being able to benefit from such a successful year,” Mrs Applin said.
“The upgraded junior playground now boasts five new wicking beds, which have been allocated to the junior classes at the school, along with funds for each class to purchase vegetable plants for their beds.
“There is also a new cubby house, and some colourful new play equipment thanks to the talented school gardener, Kay Dennis. Swings have also been erected together with a rope climbing frame made from a number of very large poles.
“We held two Busy Bees over the school holidays which allowed us to get the project finished prior to the students returning to school last Monday.”
School Principal Judith Dadson said the P&C had raised an outstanding amount of money over 2014 and definitely deserved to be acknowledged for their commitment and dedication.
“The P&C have directed a large amount of money they have raised to enhancing the play opportunities for our younger students by upgrading the junior playground,” Mrs Dadson said. “The junior students were really excited to get into the playground and enjoy their new play structures when they started school last week.
“The parents, staff and community members who volunteered at the two busy bees deserve our thanks for their hard work and should be very proud of what they accomplished.
“Special thanks must go to our P&C President Stacey Applin for her leadership and continual drive and enthusiasm to ensure the students at Bridgetown Primary are well catered for.”
P&C Secretary Clare Bookless said it has been a fantastic year and they were now preparing for another great year ahead.
“We are busily preparing for another successful year and will start off with our AGM scheduled for 7pm on Monday February 23,” Mrs Bookless said. “We are hoping that lots of parents will come along to the meeting and consider joining what has been a very successful P&C Committee.”
Some fantastic photos of the upgraded playground and more information about the AGM can be found on their Facebook page.
