Guest judge: Former Blacktown Search for Star Talent Quest winner Lorenzo Rositano will return to where it all began.
AN international opera singer who won the first Blacktown City Show Talent Quest in 2003 is returning to where it all started.
Some 12 years after winning the talent show which launched his career Lorenzo Rositano will return as a guest judge.
“I was spotted at the Blacktown Talent quest and within a year I started getting professional work,” he said.
Sponsored by Fairfax Media, Vintage FM and Atura Blacktown, the Blacktown Talent Quest is looking for singers, bands, dancers, magicians, musicians and comedy acts to vie for a $1500 cash prize.
Rositano, 28, began singing when he was 11 and spent his formative years practising in a little library room in Penrith.
When he was 16, he won both the talent quests in Penrith and Blacktown, blowing away audiences with his rendition of Agustin Lara’s Granada.
“I was feeling nervous and excitement all in one,” Rositano said.
“Even then, I remember from the morning that I said something good is going to happen.”
The accomplished singer had some advice for singers looking to impress at the talent quest.
“Studying a song is not just about learning the words.
“The audience is coming to watch you.
“You need to deliver the emotion of the song.”
